San Antonio Spur Tony Parker and actress Eva Longoria drew lots of laughs from Oprah Winfrey and her studio audience Monday when the couple talked about how they met in San Antonio a little more than a year ago.

Longoria initially said the setting was the Spurs locker room, but clarified it was actually the press room after Winfrey began teasing her. She and her father, a devoted Spurs fan, had been invited to meet the players after a game. Parker said he initially didn’t know who Longoria was except that she was “beautiful.”

Finally, he realized she was a famous TV star while they were having brunch at IHOP the next day. Fans naturally approached him for an autograph and immediately recognized her as well. He said he wondered why they also wanted her autograph.

"He was the last person on earth who hadn’t seen ‘Desperate Housewives,’ " Longoria said. Now she makes him watch every Sunday. "And she makes me watch ‘Oprah,’ " Parker added.

Looking on from the audience were Longoria’s parents, Ella and Enrique Longoria. Earlier in the show, they were treated to a dream makeover of their San Antonio home, which their famous daughter recently bought them. The Longorias appeared stunned by the makeover from decorator Nate Berkus. Walls had been painted in a deep, warm red, and Mexican antiques and furniture were added to accent the family room.

As an appreciative gesture, Longoria said she and Parker would sponsor a home as part of Winfrey’s initiative to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. She presented the TV host with a check for $50,000.
