The Spurs hope to have at least one of their starting guards on the floor tonight against Minnesota.
Tony Parker, who missed his first game Monday because of a left quadriceps contusion, was moving better Tuesday and thinks he will be able to play.
The deep bruise left a knot on Parker’s thigh.
“I couldn’t plant or change directions (Monday), but today I was feeling a lot better,” Parker said after Tuesday’s workout. “It feels a little bit better. I’m feeling good for tomorrow.”
Manu Ginobili has missed the past three games with a right groin strain and isn’t sure he will be healthy enough to play against the Timberwolves. He will wait to see how his body reacts to Tuesday’s workout.
“We didn’t do much contract, so I really couldn’t tell how good or bad I feel,” Ginobili said. “I know I’m better.”
Ginobili injured his groin against New Jersey eight days ago. He can feel the strain when he takes a long stride or makes “explosive moves.”
“Without those two, I’m kind of limited,” Ginobili said. “That’s why I’m a little worried because I can’t push off that leg hard.”
Ginobili didn’t think he would be out this long.
“Sometimes you get hurt and you know it’s going to be 10 games, so you’re mind is ready to accept that,” he said. “I thought it was going to be one game, two days, but this thing is taking a while to heal.”
Beno Udrih and Brent Barry combined for 42 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds while starting in place of Parker and Ginobili in Monday’s victory over New Orleans.
Familiar face: The Spurs’ coaches worked out free-agent guard Derrick Dial after Tuesday’s practice.
Dial, 6-foot-4, was a second-round pick of the Spurs in the 1998 draft. After spending one season in Greece, he appeared in 41 games for the Spurs from 1999-2001. The team didn’t re-sign him following the 2000-01 season.
Dial has since played briefly for Toronto, New Jersey and Orlando. He was most recently in Phoenix’s training camp before being waived.
The Spurs have one opening on their roster they can choose to fill.

不过具体的我貌似还有点含糊
上赛季马刺在交易截止期之后把Ron Mercer裁掉，而不是在赛季结束之后，当时球队（Popovich）的说法是为了让Mercer尽快找到新的东家并获得参加季后赛的资格，因为根据当时情形Mercer是不会上马刺的季后赛12人名单的
岂料Mercer同志干脆放弃赛季专心养伤瞄准下个赛季，加盟网队后，岂料还是伤病……
那么限制球员不能上季后赛12人名单的日期是交易截止日吗？不清楚……
不能交易。可以签自由球员。但不能打季后赛。
聽說Mercer以前很不錯的?

我倒想看看beno到底能干出什么来。上一场对手太弱不算数。再首发两场看看。嘿嘿。
Mercer还可以吧，当初在公牛曾有赛季场均20多分的
但是一支弱队的老大某些时候都比不上强队的小二
Mercer的问题是伤病，伤病这些年一直困扰着他。进攻方面也有不错的技术，SG和SF都可打，还能客串PG，身体素质非常好，中投相当精准（曾有三分线内的Reggie Miller之称，但没三分能力），防守方面嘛，就要看自己的态度和努力程度了
到现在为止，Ron Mercer是个悲剧人物，被伤病耽误职业生涯是非常可惜的，他和Duncan是同届，选秀第六位，换的球队也不少了
MERCER伤病是硬伤，态度是软伤。。两伤具备，只好走人。
