Tough to accept


Tony, the playoffs could not start on a worse note?

We did not play very well. We were too clumsy to win the game. By missing theses shots, our defense was under pressure. We did not come out on such a bad note except on the rebound side. They've had a lot of second chances to score. Iverson and Anthony took advantage of this. They were hot handed throughout the game.


What is incredible is the fact while without playing well you almost could get the win.

This is about the only positive feeling of the evening. While playing poorly, the hold up was not far. The problem was that we could not gather ourselves to take the lead. Denver scored the important shots everything we were closing the gap on the scoreboard. This loss is tough to accept but we need to realistic. Denver has played better than us, they deserved this win.


Personally what are your views on your game ?

I cannot recall missing so many lay-ups during a game. It is incredible. Nothing wanted to go in. It was better in the second half but it was not enough. To make things worse Duncan and Ginobili have had the same lack of success. We ended the first half with a horrible 7/33 shooting. By playing like that we take the risk of making the game hard for our team. We cannot win a game without scoring some baskets.


How do you foresee Wednesday game ?

We have our backs to the wall. We must win. We have already known this type of situation in the past. We have always reacted well. We have the opportunity on Wednesday to show that this was just an accident. We are not panicking. We know that we've missed the game but we have to show a different face.





Q:托尼，季后赛是否不应该这样开始？

A:我们没有打好这场比赛。我们笨拙得无法赢下来。因为投失了很多球，所以我们的防守就更有压力。我们不应该打得这么差，特别是在篮板上。他们得到了很多进攻篮板，这样就有第二次机会得分了。艾弗森和安东尼很好地利用了这一点。他们整场比赛手感都很好。


Q:更难以置信的一个事实是，即使打得不好，你们也几乎拿下了这场比赛。

A:这是今晚唯一一个好的感觉。当我们打得很差的时候，却还是离掌握比赛的主动权不远。问题在于，我们不能够取得领先。每次比分接近时，丹佛都可以拿下关键的分数。这场失败令人很难接受，但我们必须回到现实。丹佛打得比我们好，他们当然该赢下这场比赛。


Q:你个人对这场比赛有什么看法？

A:我无法记起怎么会投失了这么多上篮。这难以置信。怎么投都不进。第二节情况有所好转，但这不够。更坏的是，邓肯和吉诺比利也像我一样很少投篮成功。半场结束，我们三人只有可怕的33投7中。这样，这场比赛对球队来说更加艰难。我们不能在得到很少分数的情况下赢得比赛。


Q:你对第二场比赛有什么预见？

A:我们的后背已经贴在墙上了。我们必须得赢。我们在以前也遇过类似情况，以前我们成功地反抗了。在周三的比赛中，我们有机会告诉世人：第一场的失败只是意外。我们并没有惊慌失措。我们知道我们输掉了第一场比赛，但我们必须要把我们的另一面展示出来。
